Release Notes. What am I up to?
My website is a constant process. A reminder to myself that the small steps add up to big leaps! Additionally I’ll be listing out the tunes I was listening to at the time.

September 21, 2021:

  • It’s been a while! Checking my links and updating with my episode from Revision Path podcast, currently listening to City Lounge by Saib

November 16th 2020:

  • Updating my speaking section with a last one for the year. Excited to connect with the international community.

August 20th 2020:

  • I just realized a few of my last updates still had the year 2019. I laughed as 2020 feels like an extended version of 2019 sometimes. Tonight I am publishing my latest writing piece, Compassionate teaching through a pandemic. It was a challenging piece where I had to reflect on how things are ever changing. Taking a moment to learn from adapting and bracing for ever more changes ahead. No music tonight – sometimes anime in the background is even better.

July 27th 2020:

  • Yay. Added in one of my pieces written for the Adobe XD blog. I am so excited to continue expanding on this. No music today because across the street was a live mariachi band which sounded so beautiful. They all looked spaced out too for safety which was good to see.

July 23rd 2020:

  • Updates made to the speaking section to reflect the the RGD conference for which I spoke online. Currently listening to Weird Fishes by Lianne La Havas.

July 23rd 2019:

  • I added a new page to the website. Speaking. This was a big step for me as I am proud of the work and growth that has come from the speaking engagements I have done thus far. I look forward to more in the future.
  • No tunes tonight. I am so tired and trying to read for grammatical errors. 🙂

June 1st 2019:

  • Edited and updated content on the Accessibility project page.  I realized I need to break this into sections with clear headers and objective for each section.
  • Created and added in one more image comp to show the range of work completed for this.

Soy Yo (feat Doozie & MOJJO) – track of the evening.

May 27th 2019:

  • Revised the comps on the Scholastic page with images that were brighter and can increase visual engagement.
  • Edited text on the Accessibility Guidelines page.
  • Added images to outline project on Accessibility page.

One of tonight’s tunes Stella by Starlight by Herline Riley.

May 27th 2019:

  • Update the About page – a bit of rewording to reflect my work.
  • Added additional imagery to the Scholastic to show more snippets of product design and visual design work. I also re-ordered the text and imagery to pace differently. I believe this will tell more a story of my work in a sequential way.
  • Wrote out text for the Accessibility Guidelines project that I’ve added to the portfolio. I am so excited to share this because it was very dear to my heart. Also thinking as I write this – I suppose I can do it all in present tense? Not sure. (will have to check this later)
  • Edited and improved meta description on a three portfolio pages – this will help with SEO.

May 26th 2019:

  • I do alot of exciting work at Scholastic that can not always be shown in design comps. It involves process, documentation, and collaboration. I decided to write more about this as a way for readers to learn more about my day-to-day. (Does this phrase have hyphens? Will check later.)
  • Back to the home text – I think it’s getting closer now. I removed my name because it felt repetitive, then added the word “A”. This simple change felt more in line with my style of writing. I believe this reads clearly now.
  • Added favicon to the website. What is a favicon; a 16 x 16 pixel icon that usually contains a logo, branding or image for a website. This is important for SEO, bookmarking, branding and overall usability.
  • Listing out one song I was listening to while working. Music is really important for me as a way to center myself, reflect and helps me to process.

Today’s track Old Town Road by Lil Nas X – Remix.

May 24th 2019:

  • Rewrite text on the home page. I wanted to find better language that described what I love, and strive to do in my work.
  • Added in Accessibility Guidelines portion to portfolio – this will highlight specific the process, purpose and design work done to establish these guidelines. This is the beginning of it – added just the portfolio cover for the piece and writing out the language on the back end.
  • Pull out and highlight Ed2010 as a separate portfolio piece.

May 23rd 2019:

  • Added Release Notes page.
This will serve as a page that allows me to track and share my updates on this website updating process. This was inspired by Tatiana Mac – one of the first designers I saw to do this in a way that resonated with me.

May 21st 2019:

  • Updated language description on Scholastic project.
  • Added sketches to Design and Development section.
